This division is also headed by a Director and it has the following three sections:

1. Open Learning Training Section

2. Programme Production and Broadcast Section

3. Material Development Section

The main duties and responsibilities of this division are:

• Implementing the Distance Education/Open Learning policies and programmes

• Identifying the institutions for conducting Distance Education/Open Learning programmes and submit the report to Distance Education/Open Learning committee

• Developing & implementing the plan for acquiring resources & materials for Distance/Open learning

• Giving equivalency to Distance/Open Learning Courses

• Developing & implementing the action plan for curriculum and study material development, and get approval from Distance Committee

• Monitoring the activities of institutions, affiliated to provide DE/OL courses

• Conducting research regarding  the effectiveness of DEOL programmes

• Developing and implementing the programmes for distance mode teacher training according to the policies

• Conduct refresher IRI Teacher Training programmes
